Our Approach
We keep being told that many students' education has been disrupted by the continuing public health crisis and concerned parents and students are looking for additional support to keep their education on track.
Brown's Tutoring Academy is a small family organised learning agency specialising in a small range of academic disciplines which reflect the diversity of experience within the team.
Learning can take place by video conference, to enable social distancing, and when required face to face (following government advice).
As you would expect all our tutors have appropriate CRB certification.
We focus on the student’s individual needs. We adapt and plan learning to reflect the attainment levels and aspirations of the individual student.
Vocational Learning
Our Russian Language offering will be aimed at adult learners who want to develop conversational Russian whether for pleasure, business, travel, or to prepare for a higher education course.
Our Project Management training will be aimed at adult learners who want to develop additional practical skills (upskill) which they can bring to their workplace or business.
Free Introductory Lessons
All our introductory sessions are free and last up to an hour.
We explore with the student (and if appropriate their parents/guardians) their needs and how our services can best be tailored to meet them and to agree an appropriate price plan.
Sessions are available to book in the daytime, evenings, and weekends subject to availability.

Economics, Business & Project Management Tuition
Andy holds a master’s degree and is a Cambridge Economics graduate with 30 years of commercial and professional experience and has experience in tutoring business and economics up to A-Level and can support students with Oxbridge aspirations.
Andy enjoys helping students at all levels to understand complex topics. Others say Andy is good at simplifying complexity.
Andy’s aim is for every student to be the best they can be. He tailors learning to the needs of the individual student and continually refines the plan based on students’ needs.
Maths, Science and Computer Science Tuition
Mark enjoys Maths and wants everyone to enjoy it too.
He has top grades in all the maths and science exams taken so far. He is working towards becoming a professional engineer and is a Cambridge University offer holder.
He has been working with a range of students of all abilities to help boost their performance in maths and science subjects up to GCSE level.
Russian Language
Svetlana Brown graduated through the Russian education system in the 1990s and holds a master’s degree from Birkbeck College, University of London.
She has studied language education and is a native speaker of Russian and has worked as an interpreter and translator.
Svetlana offers adult education in Russian to beginners and to those who already have some knowledge in one-to-one sessions, but also facilitates group conversational sessions with students with more knowledge to practice conversational Russian.
